Our Story
Sometimes ideas are born because of a certain reason…
I had and still have a wonderful friendship with a nice man who finally decided last September to move from Germany to Seattle, Washington USA. It was already planned for him when we started our friendship. We had a wonderful time here in Germany and I was sad once the day came when he got his green card. It not easy to know someone who is close to your heart to move to another city, country, or like here, over 9000 km away to another continent…. Beside from trying to keep calm and telling myself and himself that there are phones, computers and airports, I was wondering what to give him as a farewell gift.
I know you could say memories stay in the mind, soul and heart. Yes, that’s right. But don’t you have something physical to remind of a dear relative, friend or of an important time in your life? I am sure you do.
I tried to find something that showed how special the time we shared together was. I was thinking something wearable would be appropriate – maybe a bracelet, pendant or bear jewellery would be nice and cool…
It was so difficult to find something… I had only a couple of weeks... but I decided something handcrafted, something smithed (my grandfather was a smith), something unique and precious would be worthy... precious like our friendship.
It was a mess running from shop to shop – including Tiffany’s. I found nothing – nothing personal enough.
We lived a long time in the same city before we met on Growlr. We both are bears, like “bears” and this was a founding part of our friendship. And then suddenly, I had the idea for a bear pendant. After checking a full weekend in the web I was disillusioned... There was not really something unique enough...
The next morning, I woke up and I remembered that there was a city nearby, Hanau, which is famous for silver-smithing.
Then the idea was born - our Master Bear Pendant. I found the perfect silver smith for my wish and they are today our master piece vendor.
Born in that idea and after a couple of months, I decided to start an online store and company of “proud” products for Bears and Men.
We now have nice jewellery – Masterpieces, little presents with a big meaning for your beloved ones, bear pride articles, funny t-shirts, high quality polo shirts, and much more.
I hope we can create and find more and more things for you – our Proud Friends...
